I just left the club at 5:40 on Thurs. 7-23. I left because I was going to play 9 holes, but was told I couldn't play because my daughter was with me. I explained that she was only riding with me and watching because she was bored and didn't want to stay home alone. I could tell that the employee that had to tell me that she wasn't allowed on the course was embarrassed to tell me. She shouldn't have been embarrassed, however the board members that voted in this  rule should be embarrassed. What is so sacred about mens night, that my daughter couldn't spend a couple hours with me while I was golfing. Obviously I didn't know about this rule, nor could I find anything on the web site.

I was on the board at one time and the reason this "rule" is in effect is for the safety of the young children.   I have seen a parent get onto the tee box, concentrating on their shot, and the child gets out of the cart and wander toward their parent.   Zero tolerance for the safety of the children.

The Mens Day rules are in the FCC Standing Rules and state:

Men's Day begins the 3rd Thursday in April and ends the third Thursday in September. The starting time for Men's Day is at 12:00 Noon. All ladies who tee off by 11:00 a.m. will be allowed to finish their nine holes. Must be 18 years old to participate.

The minimum age states:

No child under the age of 8 is permitted on the course at any time.

The Board is currently reviewing Standing Rules and they will be posted on the website when completed.

The Standing Rules have been reviewed and are linked through the Home Page, there is also a copy available in the clubhouse. We will be sending copies to all members at the beginning of each season as part of the information packet.

Rule #
11.) No child under the age of 8 is permitted on the course at any time.

Unless with a parent?

There are many young golfers who get their start long before the age of 8 years! They should be allowed to play, with an adult, as long as they keep moving, and/or let faster players go through.

Also I am guessing that this means.... NOT on Men's day, or Ladies day. No children (under age 15) should be allowed then, for any reason.
